     In 1993 Lynda founded Out-West Designs in Sisters, OR. There she offered the best in stone beads and findings as well as her unique jewelry designs. Over the years Out-West became a landmark in downtown Sisters. In 2005 the store was sold to our manager and her husband who continue to offer the very best in beads and supplies as well as other items. Out-West is still a landmark business in Sisters.

     Selling the store front allowed me (Lynda) to return to the bench, and to our custom work as well as to focus on teaching. Currently Ken and I own and operate Custom House Studios, Holey Stones, and Custom House School of Lapidary and Jewelry Design, in downtown Sisters. Here you will find us cutting rock, hand sculpting stone beads, drops, and custom cuts, working at the bench, and teaching. We have a full school here and classes are offered in a workshop format (for more information on the classes we offer please contact us). In addition to our studio work we spend a fair amount of time out digging our own material. Then of course there is Tucson! We really are a couple of rock hounds who have run completely amuck where stone is concerned!

     In 2000 son Ken joined the team and along with his expertise in cutting brings a knowledge of computers. He cuts for Custom House under the AKA of Holey Stones. Under his guidance we are building our ebay store, Holey Stones, with the same commitment to excellence with which we built Out-West Designs, and Custom House Studios.

     Having a background in fine art and a knowledge of color theory as well as skill in the jewelry and lapidary arts, we specialize in one of a kind designer suites. As fabricators, each piece of jewelry is made by hand, one piece at a time. Whether you desire rough material, finished stones, designer jewelry, or custom work, we offer only the best at Custom House Studios.
